Lighting/shaddow pros, look in,, 2d rendering

hello, i am in the middle of rendering a 2d illustration with adobe illustrator, the image is a cross section of a bridge’s deck, and the deck flaps up to show the layers undernieth (this will be animated)…

i need help gettin the colours correct to the light source etc…

also there are glass panals along the side of the bridge (you can sort of see them) how can i make these look more like glass? im guessin reflections, but where abouts?

also when the deck flaps up there needs to be a cast shaddow under it but i am not sure exactly where it would be and what shape it would be.,. :frowning:

i will post a few pics so you can see what im talking about…

lookin forward to any input …

thanks,

ben

update: plotted cast shaddow and changed gradients on shape to “read” better… i think the whole thing has much more depth now, its starting to work

also, added reflections on glass… maybe these could be improved but as the glass isnt a major part of this illustration im gonna leave em, glass is definitely more recognizable now anyway…

im nearly ready for animating it, would like to use flash idealy but not sure how to go about it, ive got my shapes all drawn up in illustrator but i know gettin them into flash will be a ball ache, any ideas?

please give feedback and crits, anythin is better than nothin…

thanks,

note: colours are more vivid on origanal, seemed to have dulled it down when saving for web :S

lookin pretty good are you using ill CS? I think you can export to swf. Or maybe an image sequence. Then import those into a flash movie. Where the pulled up floor and under part meet, looks kinda funny but I guess its cool
