Link 2 textfields to each other

I want to link two textfields, so that if the first one is fille the text continues in the second textfield. The text is loaded from a xml file. One option would be to use html tags so the text wraps around the picture, but as you’ll see in the attached image, the picture has a border around it, so it will be hard for the client to update it.
I know flashloaded has a component, but as far as I can see it only works for columns, in the past I had found another component that did what I want, but I can’t seem to find it anymore, not on the net and not in my backups…
Anyone knows a solution?

Instead of using two textfields you can achieve the same kinda effect using css based style sheets which are supported in flash
I think following code html code can work


your_txt.htmlText="<p class='indented'>"+<your half text>+"</p><p>"+<your second half text>+"</p>";

and indented style sheet is defined like


.indented
{
text-indent:10px;
}

Hope this works. I don’t have flash rt now to check. But you can employ this method.
If this doesn’t work then we can think of using two textfields.

Thanks for the reply, it could be an option, but because the text changes it might difficult to find out where the text shouldn’t be indented…

Have you considered using html to load the image?

If not you could rig up something with a few loops checking the maxscroll property of the text field and putting the overflow in the second text field but this wouldn’t exactly be elegant, so to speak :slight_smile:

Yep, I’ve considered that and it seems easiest way, think I’m gonna convince the client that he drops the border and take the html way.
