Loading external txt

hi i am still pretty new to flash and was wondering the following, when making a dummy iframe like a newsfeed that loads an external text file like on the tutorials is it possible to load an .html file instead of a .txt? i ask because i am making a website for someone and they dont know flash but can follow how greymatter (news management system) works best… and i’d like to link to the greymatter index page instead of a text file, also if it is possible will i still need to add a scroller in?
