I’m working on some Flash sites that have versions in multiple languages and it is easier for localization if the text is separate from the Flash files. I’m fairly well versed in Flash but I’m a total n00b when it comes to XML. I recently did the tutorial here and learned how to load XML into Flash, which is really cool, but I would like to know how to format the text that is loaded with styles that are similar to HTML.
For example, there are blocks of text coming in where certain words may need to be bolded or even made into a link, or some areas that need to be formatted with bulleted lists. I read somewhere that it is bad practice to try and put HTML tags into an XML file and besides, I can’t get HTML to come out right anyway. How would I go about formatting my XML text in Flash? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
