Loading Images

I’ve been trying to preload 2 jpgs and then load them onto another movie which I move around the screen.Having the jpgs showing on 1 movieclip is vital to my animation. Tried various approaches using createEmptyMovie(),DuplicateMovie(), loadClip() etc. I’m sure this should be easy but just can’t get it to work.
