loadMovie...Preload!?

Ok, go to www.gx-sports.com thats my site. The problem is, when I publish the loadMovies into html the Preloader for them works great. When I have them loaded into the home page the preloaders are not functioning at all and the page seems to stall and not load. Any thoughts…anyone?

Example: Click on the Members button. Watch for the preloader, it flashes real quick then disappears.

Now, try this... [www.gx-sports.com/members.html](http://www.gx-sports.com/members.html) the preloader works fine.:upset: I'm stuck....please help!!!

Thanks, Hank

I was checking it out, are all the sections in that site, loaded swfs, and if so, do all of them have preloaders ? I checked out the whole site, and noticed right away, that your web host is fast, so therefore even when i checked that direct link and went actually through your site to the members section, same thing happened for both ways for me, like I think its because either ur host is just quick, ur external flash files are not hefty in file size, meaning they load very quickly, without the preloader showing up, aswell lastly it could be a preloader problem, but first check those first 2 things that i just stated above, i think ur preloaders are working fine, its maybe because ur host is fast, or the swf file sizes are quite small, so they load very quickly.

Then why do the files seem to “hang” sometimes and not even load the page that is called? My web host is fast, but the members swf is 650k, it should take a little time to load…if no one else can think of anything let me know I’ll post some of the code I used and maybe you can all slap me around verbally from there

You never answered my question, are all those sections you have, is there a preloader in every section/external swfs ? If so then its just ur host being fast. If you can answer that question, then maybe I can solve ur problem a little easier, you are being vaque by not even answering that lol.

And another thing, it never hung for me, it just shows the preloader for a second, then goes away, even if the file is 650 kb !!! Its your preloader then, try using a better preloader, or did you code that yourself, Ive noticed theres some crap preloader examples on the net, some are made only for older versions of flash, which screws up my stuff when I was trying to implment their preloader method, then i realize it doesnt even work with flash player 6 or 7 lol… If I were you, I would edit that members section swf, test it out with other generic preloader examples, that should give you good insight into whether its just your preloader thats messed, or whether its just your fast host. Im starting to think its 1 or the other.

The only swf page with an embedded preloader is the member section because it was a bigger file. As for the preloader it’s self I modified some code I had from a previous version of flash, maybe I have to keep modifying. Anyway, thanks for all your help thus far. Still haven’t fixed it…I’m gettin close to pullin out my hair on this one :frowning:

yaayyyy, answered, change ur preloader, theres plenty of good preloaders out there, u try http://www.actionscript.org yet ? many examples there, same with kirupa.com, i think it was just your preloader, some preloaders just suck
