Hey guys, I have a question that I’m hoping I can get some help on.
I work for a small newspaper and we have just recently begun offering our local advertisers the ability to post video ads online. I did two preliminary ones just fine embedding a small .mov into the flash file. Not the prettiest way to go I know, but most of our website viewers don’t have the ability to see ads published in anything later than Flash 7, and won’t bother to download updated versions to view our ads. So it falls to me to make the ads as compatible as possible so the advertisers get their happy click-throughs…
So, latest addition to our video advertisers just sent me a copy of their TV commercial. Its decent, but too large to embed the .mov. Converting it to .fla throws the video and audio out of sinc. I converted it to .swf as well and its a nice small file size that plays back just fine, but I’ll need to load that back into a little bit of other content. How does one load an .swf back into another .fla file and have it play normally? If I import the .swf it just gives me a white box and a graphic, not the playable .swf.
I’ve searched around for how to import clips… but so far I can’t get it to work. I keep getting errors about “Class or Interface ‘X’ could not be loaded” when trying to copy paste the code examples. Is there a way to import or embed an .swf file into another .fla for publishing that will work with Flash 7?
Thanks in advance.
