Looking for how to do website affect, i think its JS

I would like on my site for in my games area (and maybe a future pics.) area for it to be so that when u are on the menu and click a link, the screen shades over and the game/pic appears in the center of the screen.

An example of this is when clicking to view an attachment on kirupa.com, i attached one so u can test.

i beleive this is JS but dont know how to do it, thank you for any help

wait, i had to use Flashbox to display a flash game but the buttons dont wrk, how can i change this?

I’m not really familiar with FlashBox, but if you post the site somebody here can probably look at it and see the problem.
