Here’s the deal:
what I’m looking for is just one software, don’t care if it’s local install (desktop) or online, which can do all of the following:
- access mail (either regular pop, or gmail): read & write
- read & manage RSS feeds
- calendar / tasks / todo
- manage contacts
- manage bookmarks
- browse
without any new windows, all in one interface.
Now, Outlook has a calendar, adressbook, tasks (not perfect), and I guess I could add NewsGator or whatever the integrated one was, but the thing is, I don’t like Outlook, it’s too bloated, you have to compose mails with Word (2 apps) even if it’s background, it takes ages to open/close, I can’t “view source” on a mail as easily as with OE…
I like the speed of OE, the quick access to message source (SPAM!), I like Rainlendar (free calendar with todo list: http://www.ipi.fi/~rainy/index.php?pn=projects&project=rainlendar) there’s many free RSS readers around, like Sharp Reader etc,
but I’d like to group all this stuff I use all the time into just one interface; got enough other apps open anyway.
Ideas? Links? Build one in Flash?..
