Anyone know where this is on in canada? We donât have sci-fi but I think thereâs somethign called âspaceâ lurking on my cable.
then again, I donât want to know too much about the film before I see it.

Thatâd be an awful lot of living for a 10-12 year-old kid. :h:
So I guess only werd and myself saw this :pa:
Donât know if it was aired in Canada though.
I watched most of it.
I dont think I bought into it really. Although it was a brilliant production before the release of his new movie (Which I so plan on seeing asap)
I lost faith in this guy by the second movie I saw made by him. I realized they all had the same âoh, isnât this ironicâ kind of ending. Iâm pretty sure his next movie, The Village (which so happens to be the same name as my apartment, lawsuits pending), is going to be the same.
Plus, Signs was a huge letdown.
lol, okay okay that had some good points. Iâm still a fan of his and Iâm still gonna go watch âThe Village.â :thumb:

:h:
Of course it was fake, though I must admit certain parts of it had me wondering. But then again I guess that was the point- so if it was Shyamalanâs goal to get me thinking about it, then it worked.
What was the point of making a documentary that wasnât accurate? :td:
It was a mock documentary. As I said earlier: it shows how Shyamalan got his inspiration for his movies and then we find out that this inspiration really came from him living through this, or personal experiences.
Oh ok. I remember seeing a real documentary of him on one of âthose channelsâ (A&E or something :P). I didnât remember seeing some of the stuff a few of you posted about him lol.
:td:
thoriphes-
I kind of understand your disappointment, but you gotta realize: Itâs a movie!
I donât know, itâs just I donât think too deep into these things⌠if I try to, then I get too picky about the movies I watch.
I know what you mean about being too picky, because I am. After I watched Sixth Sense, I was like, âOh, that was really cool, never wouldâve thought thatâŚâ. Then I temporarily became a fan. And then I saw Unbreakable, and at the end of that little âmovieâ I was like âOh, that was really cool, never wouldâve thoughtâŚwait a minuteâŚdidnât he use the same storytelling elements from Sixth Sense in this sub-par comic drama?â
Then I watch SignsâŚonly prepared: âOk, there arenât any aliens, just some hooligans from cross town going around causinâ them Gibson (forget the family name in the movie) boys some trouble. His wife isnât really dead, but is a spirit anyway roaming around who comes to Mel at the end of the movie and tells him about life and death and how he shouldnât mourn and how he should look after his kids and look towards the brighter side of things and how he should take the shotgun out of the kid who screwed up his fieldsâ mouth. yada yada yada, another supposedly meaningful movie, whereâs my $7.50â.
Boy was I wrong, though not upset. I felt that Night was a little low on budget making the film which is why there was very little showing of aliens.
I dunno, I donât have Night, itâs just that I feel he tries too hard sometimes.
Iâll watch the Village then make my decision.
I didnât think it was because of budget you didnât see the aliens a lot thor, I thought it was because a high percentage of people are afraid of the dark and the unknown, I thought combining the two had more effect that if the aliens just jumped out.
Like when Melâs using the knive to see under the door, how tense would that scene have been if weâd already seen the aliensâŚor how about when Jacquin (sp?) seeâs the alien on tv, I jumped about 10 feet in the air at that bit. I think seeing them in bits & pieces had more effect than just showing them.
I think your right about the twist thing though, unfortunately I guessed the end of the Sixth Sense because people were telling me âYouâll never guess the endâ so I did and I was rightâŚd**n. I did the same with Unbreakable though didnât guess right but Signs I never saw coming at all, donât know why but I was just expecting a normal ending with that one.
Anyway Iâm not looking forward to his next filmâŚdunno why it just doesnât appeal to me
Kinda reminds me of the premise for Brotherhood of the Wolf.
on the imdb site they have a review from someone who saw a private screening, this puts me off even more. Iâll probably just wait for the DVD.

I missed the Sci-Fi show but this seems to sum it all up.
Nice find there Ethan. It does pretty much sum it up.
