Macromedia Flash 8 Registry Point does not corrispond to ActionScripts Registry Point. I am basically having the same problem as this guy:
http://www.actionscript.org/forums/showthread.php3?t=95488
But when I looked through his thread He did not get the answer he was looking for.
My situation though is that I am writing a tutorial on how to make a simple game for a flash player class at school. In the tutorial I say to put a movie clip’s contents which are 80x80 in size at -40, -40 to center it. Well when I get to school (which has CS3) putting the content Movie Clip at -40, -40 does not center it. It moves it offset from the registry by -40,-40. Is there a button to access this?
And to show that it is not just the difference in versions. My friend has The exact same version of flash as I do, and his registration point runs like the schools CS3 where if you move something with a centered registration point, it moves directly to where the registration point is at, not the top left.
Here is an example of what my flash does when I center it.
lawstudios.bravehost.com/nrd/example_1.fla < 30kb
And when that re-created on my school’s computer or my friends computer then the content will be down and left -40,-40 more then it is in my example.
I hope someone has a solution to this…
Thanks!
