Macromedia site

If you go to www.macromedia.com (Im using fireFox)

In the address bar and in the ‘tab’ for the page, you’ll see a little version of their logo instead of a ‘page’ image like you see when viewing most other sites. I am assuming this is some CSS, but I cant find out how to do it, does anyone know?
Thanks

Peace

i dont have ff right now but is it similar to when people change the ie logo in the address bar of ie to their logo? If so I believe that is dont with JS

can’t remeber if its CSS or JS but I do think you need to get an icon converter thing to save your address bar image as a .ico. I think anyway…

This is called a favicon.
Favicon (pronounced fav-eye-con) is short for ‘Favorites Icon’.

You can have your own one if you create a little favicon-graphic and convert it into an icon (extension ‘ico’) with the name favicon.ico. Put it in the root directory of your website and it will displayed in the address-bar (of all browsers supporting favicons).

nice footer, firegambler.

You can create .ico’s by renaming a .gif… correct? That’s how I do it for my desktop stuff.

Thanks Kristopher!

I’m not quite sure if it works like this, actually I don’t think it will work,
but you can get a free Image2Icon-Converter HERE.

or get a trial of MicroAngelo, it’s a fullblown icon/cursor maker/animator… I fiddled with it a few years ago…
