Making changes to menu

Hey all! Anyone ever encounter this one? I am trying to make changes to the links in a flash menu. I have renamed the buttons and changed the get url action but when I test the menu it still pulls up the old links? Any ideas? Help is desparately needed!!! Thanks

This is the main navigation menu to a site I am working with. The site is going through alot of updates. The band does not want to change the menu to allow for additional buttons to be placed. I am able to rename the buttons through the library, I am also able to change the get url in the action panel, but when I test the movie and check the buttons they pull up all the old urls.

hmm, seemed to work fine for me…
just renamed them by changing the text in the symbol
attached is the fla w/ the new buttons, just change them by opening buttons 1-6 on ur library, and clicking them w/ the text tool
i don’t know why it wouldn’t update when u changed it

Had no problem changing the text of the button. Had the problem with changing the url of the buttons actions.

maybe someone else can help you
you could to it by restructuring it, having the text always there, and on (rollOver) {
_root.nav.button._visible = true
}
and setting it false on the first frame…
but it would take some time…
sorry again…
well, at least someone else can take a look at the fla now

yeah, it’s weirdly coded… something i’ve never seen b4 (which isn’t that rare tho, i’ve only been doing flash for about a month…)

I am trying to change a few menu items on a menu interface for a website. The problem comes in when I change the get url action. I can physichally change it but when I test the buttons, the old url files are loaded instead of the new ones.
The band that this is for does not want to change the interface in anyway other than the buttons and the links.
