Mask dilemma

I have a movie that I wish to include in my main movie and it displays perfectly but for the fact that it requires a mask to hide the ‘overhangs’.

Both movies use masks within themselves and the Help file states…“A mask layer can contain only one mask item. You cannot have a mask layer inside a button, and you cannot apply a mask to another mask”

I have tried to mask off the movie that I wish to add/include and it seems that the above statement applies as it won’t work and this was done before attempting to include the MC in the main movie.

Has anyone come across this before and is there a ‘work round’ please?

you can have a mask inside a button. just not a layer. what it mean is that you can place a movie clip with a mask in it inside a button.
you can’t mask a mask cause that’s just plain stupied.
I don’t understand your question really. you use terms that noone will figure out… like what is ‘overhangs’??? or "mask off ". you don’t mask off anything. you mask… ;plain and simple.
go d/l some simple movies and learn how to use masks
