Matching Papervision to other 3d platforms... (cross platform guru please)

Can anyone point me in the right direction… Id like to work out how to match cameras, distances and perspectives in papervision to other 3d media.

Lets say for example I take a photo of a table looking at it from an angle, I take it with a 35mm lens. If I take this into a 3d app (c4d for me) its fairly easy to create a camera which matches the one I took the photo with and then adjust the positioning so that I can use the photo as a background and when I add 3d assets they look just like they are inside the scene.

But how on earth do I do this in Papervision? Has anyone found a way of matching a 3D scene from a 3D app to one in papervision? so for example I can have interactive photos on my table image and they match the perspective of the real life camera positioning focal length… (ie. so it looks real basically)

I hope Ive explained this properly, anyone had to do this kind of thing before?
