Motion clip <item> *see photo

I have a question on how to change the <item>. It is a button, than when a user rolls over a top navigation link, the bottom portion will play a roll over an animation if and only it is according to that <item>. Now the question is, since it is one motion clip animation, for all 6 different links, how do I go about changing the <item>. See photo for more detailed info…
