Moving the forums?

Hey everyone,
The forums will not be switched to the kirupa.com server as originally planned. Racknine (my forum’s host) heard about my plan and offered me the same deal as MT. So, I’ve decided to keep the forums as they are now on kirupaforum.com.

I talked with MT on the phone during the superbowl, and I wasn’t getting any help from their end with the database. Racknine immediately contacted when I inquired about backing up the db, and gave me this offer.

I have to respect their excellent service and response =)

Well it has ups and downs.

I feel that if you kept the forum on the same server as the site, then all those members viewing both of those at the same time may cause a slower server.

But on the other hand, your forum goes down quite a bit. At least once a week on my end here. Sometimes for 30 minutes, sometimes for a few hours.

But heck for free service, and you don’t have to go through the hassle of moving everything, AND you don’t have to worry about losing any information… I say that is definitely awesome.
