.mp3 files playing at super high speeds -- called with loadsound

Hello,

I have taken the juke box component supplied on the macromedia cd as a basis for a song player. My problem is that the songs are being played super high speed. The .mp3 files play normally if called directly from an explorer call (local or on the internet) but as soon as they are called by the juke box it is chipmunk central. Has anyone had a similar experience? Any troubleshooting ideas?

The link is www.spektralmotion.com – The juke box is currently playing .swf files instead of .mp3 files becuase of the “chipmunk” problem.

The juke box is doing a simple loadSound command for a .mp3 file.

Also another related question. The juke box that is currently posted at www.spektralmotion.com works except for switching songs automatically. I need to detect when the external .swf file is done playing then switch to the next .swf file. Any ideas? I was using onSoundComplete when the juke box was configured as a .mp3 files – but now that doesn’t work becuase it’s configure with .swf files to try and bypass the “chipmunk” fast audio.

Thanks,
My client is flipping out because the deadline was two days ago. And I don’t understand what problems flash is having with calling simple .mp3 files.

Oh and the controls at the bottom of the juke box don’t work – ignore them.
