[MX] *s instead of letters for password?

Hi,

I’ve looked at the tutorial here (http://www.kirupa.com/developer/flash5/ifelse.htm), which regards a simple user login system using a password and if/else.

I know that the tutorial was for Flash 5 but I have used it in Flash MX. However, it does not cover whether or not it is possible to make it so that when the user enters their password, the letters do not appear and instead, *s appear.

I’m sure you have all seen this technique used on forums etc. but could somebody please explain whether or not it is possible to do this in Flash MX and if so, how?

I have assumed it is an actionscript issue because there does not appear to be a method of setting this via the properties panel.

its an option in the properties bar. a dropdown. keep your eyes peeled and it may be revealed :cool:

It is indeed :). I never would’ve imagined it to be in the drop down for “Line type” lol. Cheers :thumb:.
