I am almost done on the development of my new photography portfolio site.
I would like to hear some of your opinions regarding the design and functionality. My objective was to focus on showing my work, without distracting elements or animations… I also focused on having a dynamic site, so all galleries, pictures and texts are read from XML files. Hope you like it!
By the way, the final galleries are not loaded yet, just a couple of galleries to test the site. The same happens with the info boxes
Design wise… I think that photography portfolio should be like a sub title… just a little smaller than the title. I don’t think the colors are bad, but maybe have the brown border graidate from top to bottom, top being a slightly darker brown… might give it a little more appeal.
IMO the submenu pop-ups take away from the design of the site… even though I know it’s not your focus (your photos are), your site should always compliment your quality of work.
When you releasing the .fla for the xml gallery? LoL
Really nice photos also.
I like being able to see the thumbnails just not in front of the main gallery window- same with the about me and contact. Could you just lower the thumbnails off the main window and that way you don’t have to scroll out and in to get rid of it.
Thanks for the replies and the suggestions. Right now I am working really hard on preparing the pictures to upload to the final site. After that work is done, I will review the design with your suggestions, and I promise I will release the code as soon as I make it a little bit more readable.
