Ok… so, I installed XAMPP latest edition. All the Apache/PHP basic stuff running fine.
Now want to get my hands dirty in MySQL. Trying to follow the Kirups idiot-guide tut, but I can’t open the mysql.exe. It pops-up a command prompt, and then beeps and disappears.
What am I doing wrong?
I find the mysql.exe in: C:\Program Files\xampp\mysql\bin
I previously opened the mySQLAdmin screen, and assigned my user/pass combination. When I look at the Database tab, it’s empty. I understand that I need to create the DB first, and then add the tables… tried in PHP, and IE won’t run it, so try the tutorial instead using the Monitor.
Something must be wrong, but no idea where to start looking??
