That looks more like a poster than a magazine cover.
I’m not able to access your site granjam
www.nada.com.pt ?? it’s working…
Wow! This really caught my eye =)
I really like the style, and the background picture adds a great feeling to the whole cover.
Now, I don’t really know what the magazine is about but I guess it has something to do with types/fonts, and the cover really expresses that. I love the angled text with varying fonts in the middle.
As for the downside, the whole cover really does look a lot like a poster or a flyer. That is because everything is centered I believe, so you could try to move the text along with the small text at the bottom to one side or both. Perhaps it would ruin the layout though, but you could try it =)
Anyways, I don’t think the poster look would be a problem if it’s among the other magazines on the magazies shelf
Perhaps if you sat down with this again you could come up with even more ideas for it? There’s always room for improvement ;D
Good job anyhow =D
Its ok, I agree with slowroasted, does it have a price, issue number, bar code and web address on it?
The 3d looking title doesn’t suit it imo. The layout is odd, most magazines have text left or right aligned and all of it slanted is interesting too.
Probably not something i would read - I don’t even know what it contains, althbough is it something to do with books?
thank you for your posts
it’s a Portuguese magazine about art and new technology, science and philosophy. all the articles are written by people who investigate and work somewhere between those areas [it isn´t a journalistic vision]. it´s distributed in Portugal and Brazil.
probably you would get a better idea of the cover if you check the other covers at www.nada.com.pt. the covers have their own story, it´s own logic
Nada means Nothing and it has been the logo magazine since the beggining.
It has a kind of retro look like if you have took it from the russian construtivism. It’s a very particular kind of magazine. people say they love it and that they never found anything like it around the world.
It’s odd that you say that I should align the text to the left or to the right just to look like another magazine. It is a cover and it´s the magazine material support that gives it meaning. It’s strange that in a world where I’ve seen so many diferent and original covers breaking every rule i know… well… You could say: What the hell has this cover to do with the contents you’ve mentioned? That’s the dificult thing to explain but it has been working, so check the other covers at the nada site – choose menu / volume […] and click «capa ampliada» bellow the cover – and tell me something
all the best,
granja
