I was labeling some frames and I noticed the tick off button “Named Anchor”. I’ve tested that and I have noticed it allowes your browser to use the back button to control your movie.
But is it handy??
It can be.
Basically it’s good if you’ve got a large website made all in Flash. If you use the named anchors, then a user can use the Back and Forward buttons on the browser to navigate through your site without too much hassle.
Without them, then as soon as your user hits the Back button, they get taken to the last HTML page they viewed - which isn’t neccessarily going to be your site. You’ve probably seen this with some sites that were done in Flash 5 - you click Back and end up somewhere completely different.
So that’s why they’re there really. I’m not sure how well they work and how stable etc they are though, as I’ve never used them that fully before.
