"NaN" what the heck does that mean?

okay, i’m trying to make the photo gallery (the one from the kirupa tutes). it loads the first image okay. when I click on the next button i get
“Nan” repeating in the output window (test movie).

anybody know what the heck that means?

how to simply convert string to a number. I my case i have a external var called &delay = 100. but i think as doesn’t see it as a number but as a string
