Hey, I had an idea for the Services section of my new site. I want to have the services arranged in categories, and displayed in an elegant little hierarchy thing, a la Maya et 3dsmax. Some examples:

I’ve started making something:

So basically, I want to make it start with only ‘print’ and ‘digital’ visible, then when you click an item, more items (nodes?) expand out from it, etc, etc (probably with some nice elastic easing). I need the entire hierarchy to pan around when a sub-category is expanded, so it becomes centred in the frame. Also, when you click one category, any others on the same level need to close, to make room (eg. you have ‘advertising material’ open, and it closes when you click ‘corporate stationery’). It all seems really complex for me to do… I could probably try doing it using a whole bunch of animated movie-clips, which tell eachother to go to specific frames when things are clicked, but that would get complex, and I wouldn’t be able to get that smooth elastic-ish easing on the animation like you can with AS. So basically, I need to know the AS behind this… to make the nodes expand out, closing any other open categories, panning the entire graph around, etc… I probably wouldn’t go more than 3 levels deep (eg. print>stationery>letterheads). The final button would open up an information window.
Any help would be much appreciated
