Like you read in the title, I’m looking for an original idea to start a film script. I have a couple of ideas of my own, but I would like to know your ideas, your visions. Try to keep in mind a few stuff before posting:
a) The basic idea is enough, I don’t want to whole script. Things like “a kid that sees dead people could be cool” is what I mean. Depending on your idea, you’ll need more lines of course, but I’m more intrested in one, good line then 30 lines of crap.
b) Something original. Something that has not been made before. “a kid that sees dead people” is not good…
c) Something that doesn’t need a lot of special effects. In fact, try to think of something that doesn’t need any, or just a few minor ones. Not Star Wars or Jurassic Park. Think Donnie Darko, Fight Club (except the last scene of course), American Beauty, Good Will Hunting, The Way of the Gun, etc.
d) Something that could lead to a dark story, kind of complicated. Something that makes the audience think about the story and plot after watching the movie. Not a popcorn movie for brainless people. Even if you think it’s not dark at all, post it anyway, as long as it’s not a comedy.
I know I’m asking a lot, but it’s worth asking… Maybe there’s some stuff I’ll be able to use together with my story (which is still in my head), maybe not… I’ll post the film script once it’s done. It’s probably going to take some time (1 or 2 years), but I’ll post it for sure.
Yay! A thread for filmmakers :beam: I have lots of ideas! :beam: But I want to make them for myself so sorry Perhaps we could work on somehting together one day :beam:

Hehe, I knew this question was going to be asked.
Well, to respond, if I get loads of money for it (which I doubt will happen), yeah… but I’m being realistic here…
Like I said, I don’t need the story, I need the basic idea.
Actually the film script (+ film) would be made as a school project first.
Soul, are you a film maker? Or an enthousiast? Working together could be cool.
