I’ve been working at the same place for the past 12 years. It’s a factory that manufactures engineered fasteners for many automotive companies. I’ve done just about every crappy job there: full time janitor, heat treating(working near HOT HOT furnaces all day) sorting department(basically sorting through tens of thousands of tiny fasteners all day) and shipping, worked many different shifts - nights - afternoons. I found out today that I got a job/promotion I had applied for: Engineering Coordinator!!! Good bye freezing winters on the shipping dock and blistering hot summers, 200 feet from the furnaces!!! Hello air conditioning, straight days and nice work attire So, basically this is a message to anyone who feels they are stuck in a dead end job…you know the old story - “worked his up from janitor…” well, I WAS the janitor there
Stick it out, and work hard and you will be rewarded. I’m just sooo happy and I wanted to share it with everyone
