Hello! This is my first post, and my first question.
I am a newbie to actionscript, to coding/programming anything ever, and to OOP specifically. So with those massive handicaps firmly in place I was reading tutorials on OOP in Flash 5, because it seemed like a good place to start (basically “was readable to me, etc.”).
I have hit a lot of things in this tutorial about proto, and arguments.callee, and other swell things I don’t think exist any more in AS2. Should I ditch this before it confuses me and just start reading books on AS2? Or will this still make a nice foundation?
I don’t actually own a copy of Flash 8; at home I have MX and at work we have MX 2004 - but if everything is gearing toward the complete switch to AS2…
