Hi all
I have been trawling around the web trying to find a source of help in creating my own hit counter. I have been to the kirupa tutorial page and had a play with the offering there but I just can’t get it to work.
Online, the Flash movie can see the text file, if I change the value of count it reflects in the movie, but it won’t change manually.
I have reset the chmod settings etc, but to no avail. One thing that I couldn’t see was the location to which each component was to be uploaded.
Another thing that I was worried about was that my ISP suggests that each perl script should begin:
#!/usr/bin/perl –
which isn’t in the instructions.
Being totally new to this server side stuff I am totally at a loss, please help
