Alright you death heads, who else is in love with this album? I love how it opens so peacefully with “Dusk falls in the … (blah blah)” and when you’re feeling like “hmm, relaxed”, POW! It goes and hits you “Cast down the heritic” with the entire band going at full speed. Despite that, they never feel like they’re rushing or even at their limit. Like they could go faster, but they’re teasing the listener by suggesting we aren’t ready for it.
The two tracks that stand out the most in my mind currently are “Lashed to the Slave stick” and “Von Unaussprechlichen Kulten”. They’re just mind blowing (as is the entire album, but those in particular). To quote OOTS (web comic): “I think I just had an evilgasm”.
For those of you who don’t know nile, here’s a general summary of who they are. It’s what you get when a bunch of musically proficient egypt enthusiasts with a love of death metal get together and realise they’re not doing quite as well as they had hoped in their current professions. If you’re into death metal, you’re going to love Nile. End of story.
