I will state for the record that i’ve been stuck with this problem for months, and have now nearly given up all hope. LOL

The problem

I’m doing a project where I can’t get a button to call up a movie that I’ve saved inside my main movie/timeline. Another button inside this movie will then close it down when hit on. I would also like the movie’s window to be moved around the page buy clicking on its frame and dragging it (like a window on your computer, but I do not want the frame and buttons of this etc). I do know how to use buttons and was assuming that the button to move the window around will just be a button that I set up around the window inside the said movie/symbol. I’ve also assumed that the button from the main time line will call up some sort of action script to call up this movie/symbol (this is my first point to be stuck at), but I don’t know the syntax/command to use? and the button inside the movie to exit the window will again call up a similar command to close down this new movie which had been called up. It would also be nice to have some where that the windows position is saved so that the next time the open button is clicked then it will remember the new start position. Is there a cure for all these problems in one easy to use command or is it (like i’ve stated in my assumptions) a long winded answer of five commands to do each specific thing. I have just mastered logging some values which were returned after a button click, which i assume would be an answer to the positioning problem.
I have got an idea but still haven’t got a clue how to go about this and have found loads of links on similar subjects. But nothing I can find to fit.
Yes i’m a noob.
No i’ve had no training.
I picked up flash about 4 years ago and not used it since. I’ve only really used it in a cartoon/art perspective and am doing this project for a little light hobby. I really don’t want to go back to the start and learn the basics. Unfortunately none of my previous projects needed this sort of solution. So I think i’ve skirted round the training.
Thanks for your time again and i’m sorry if this should have been in the action script section. But I didn’t know the answer let alone where I should post this problem?
