I am having trouble loading text. i have ued two tutorials:

In the slding menu tutorial I made a big movie clip out of all my smaller movie clips in order to make it slide. So, when I wanted to add the dynamically loaded text, I edited the single movie clip. However, when I tried to use the tutorial on loading text, it seemed to only sort of work. The scrollbar would be scrollable, but no words could be seen. I think the scrolling of the bar means it recognized that something was there, but blanked it out. Is this because it is not being edited on the main timeline but rather in a scene?
I hope that makes sense… if it doesn’t, my simple question is “Why can’t I see my text in my journal section?”
