I am creating a Global Domination type of game using Flash MX and I need to create a Nuclear Explosion Effect.
Has anyone tried something like this or knows someone who has?
Can anyone offer any suggestions on how should go about it as I amabit of a newbee…

Can you explain what kind of effect you’re trying to get? Scripted? Animation?
If you want an animation effect, Discreet Combustion has very nice explosions 
well basically you could do a tweened animation and make your movie turn all white during the explosion then fade to transparency and leave the nuclear mushroom…
