i have a grid and i want every ‘square’ to be a button, but when i convert it to a button, it grows and it covers the lines.

it doesn’t have anything to do with your grid. only the green area is the button.
even if you draw a circle in a new document, and turn it into a symbol (movieclip, graphic, button) , your symbol will take the shape of a square.
yes, but you can see the green area grow, when its converted to a symbol, its just a small amount, it partly covers the lines, so when i make two buttons next to each other, the whole line is covered

it is possible when you sellected the green area to convert, it has slightly moved. this has happened many times to me. try it on another area and let me know.

it doesnt change size it just comes up front when converted
