Object Link - help please

Hi all,

I have an object
<object width=“135” height=“173” type=“text/html” data=“modify\lastrates.htm” border=“0”
style=“overflow: hidden; border: no; scrollbar: no” >
<q lang=“he” dir=“rtl”>
</object>

this object’s html page with a link <A HREF> in it.
whenever u click on the link, the new page comes inside the little object’s sqaure.
I want the link to go over the main html page

is there a TARGET i can add in order to do this ?

Jon

target="_parent" is what you want.

in the object’s html’s a href ?
it doesn’t do the trick - i still see the link inside the object box…
hmm…

maybe something needs to be written in the <object></object> ?

:crying:

do you want it to replace the html file? or float over it on another z-index?

replace it.

i’ll be more specific:

index.htm contains an object (object.htm is the file i m calling)
object.htm has a link in it

i want that when i click the link, it will go over (replace) index.htm

bye the way - the TARGET="_parent" works in FIREFOX, but IE remains in the little object sqaure…

anybody ?? help …

why not use an iframe or a div and “ajax”? isn’t object generally meant for some sort of multimedia embed? all your doing is calling an html file, and an iframe can accommodate that

an Iframe works well - thx - it haden’t came into my mind at all…

how would u suggest using a div or ajax ?
bear in mind my data/text is located on a different file.

first - i suggest the commercial message be omitted…

second - here is the website incase someone has an idea how2use ajax or div instead of iframe there… thx!
