Hello to all out there in Flash land. I know I drop like two questions a week on here ,but I’m really trying to get the hang of this Flash programming. Anyway, I went and tried out Kirupa’s tutorial on preloaders found here. Anyway, I went throught it and it was easy and all so I decided to test it. Went I went into “test movie”, I clicked on “simulate download”. The player window came up displaying my movie. I press my enter button which would take me into the frames containing my preloader. However, after I pressed it, the player just went right into the movie. I tried it a couple of times and still no sight of my preloader.
Then I figured that I’d upload it to my server and test it there. Still no preloader. What would cause my preloader to not show? I made sure that my cache was empty and since I upload the companion .swf’s that make up my pages, I figured that it couldn’t just be referencing the files on my computer. Has anyone else experienced a problem like this? If you’d like to see the finished version, you can go here. Also. if you’d like to see the .fla, I can provide that for you as well.
