Opening Linux Scripts/Files on Windows XP

Hey everyone,
Just wondering, would it be possible for me to open linux files or scripts in Windows XP? I am trying to get any of the files in the following link working on my comp: http://web.mit.edu/18.03/tools/linux/

Are there any 3rd party applications that could help me out? I don’t feel like having to run out in the cold to a linux machine to finish some of my assignments.

Linux, heard many good comments about that…
My brother says you really learn a lot working with Linux. But he also says that it’s quite difficult to work with…
