Opensource components?

On almost every project that my firm builds we need components. Most of these components we have built as part of our flash framework over the past couple of years. They do exactly what we need, however, they take a huge upfront investment, usually are missing important features, and now are all outdated since they are as2. (Converting over to as3 is possible, but they are just generally kind of sloppy code).

There is a huge demand for these types of components, but I have found no supply for them. There are tons of companies (see the kirupa homepage ads) that sell compiled flash components, but since they are compiled they lack the flexibility we need or can’t be written cleanly into our project code.

Does anyone know if or where there are open source components (class packages) that could serve this purpose? In the same way that there are open source tween engines (zigo, tweener, etc), I think there should be open source component libraries (scrollbars, forms, etc).
