Opera 9.5

I just installed this baby and I have got to say its really fast and with all the nice features I still think its one of the best and most innovative browsers

Too bad not alot of people use it speed improvement is most noticeable on Mac

Get it here

I use it too on a Mac. I’m going to give it a shot when I get home from work tonight!

Still no right click support. :frowning:

… What?

I love Opera and this isn’t a bad release, but it is long due and all a bit unnecessary. Only feature I’m using in 9.5 is the Firefox equivalent of the Awesome Bar. New theme looks fresh but honestly blows (the menus on top look so fsked up). Not sure about memory usage yet…

I wish they had an option of just a browser, instead of browser, Bittorrent client, Mail client, RSS reader, and Widgets runtime. It’s like Mozilla the browser from 8 years ago. They trimmed it down to just a browser - Firefox, and now look at all the fanboys hugging that. Opera should do the same.

Right click on the map… no right click support still.

Works fine in windows I’ll check on my Mac when I get home

I love the new theme.

I use to use it on my mac, but whenever I clicked a link it opened a new tab but it never loaded the page which made me swap to FF.

Maybe its just opera in Vista never tried opera on XP. Good to know, one of my coworkers was like so suprised that he was never able to right click in opera for google maps. He was on mac so… I bet it doesn’t work there either.

Woah I just opened up Firefox to check out what you are talking about. There is a custom right click menu! I never knew that, cause I’ve been using Opera forever  Meh, that’s apparently never bothered me.

Does Opera 9.5 come with a singer and an orchestra? Otherwise I’m not downloading it. Just kidding!

Did you ever see my right click support for flash… lol. I gave up on the project once I figured out that right click wasn’t allowed in Opera (I had it basically working in all other browsers flawlessly[/ot]

[ot]Yeah I saw that. I totally started it too![/ot]

You won me over tranny guy! : )

Downloading it now, will give it a run for its money although I will miss firebug :frowning:

Edit: This does look nice. Uses less memory and CPU for the same exact amount of tabs and sites in it. I’d switch if I could use firebug in it :x

hehe. Yea with as3 it made it easier to add middle click support and complete input to flash (yours only detects it doesn’t exactly work through to flash… but thats probably a flash limitation back then).[/ot]

opera ftw! defintetively i am sayin good bye IE :beam:

Quite clean. I’ll attempt to review it today or tomorrow on my blog. I’ll be a new born virgin to the Opera browser.

I’m having some odd framerate differences in opera vs firefox tbh… some flash content in opera looks like it’s 12 fps when it’s not.

Man this release is getting on my nerves. It’s crashed at least 3 or 4 times a day for me. I don’t even go on Javascript heavy websites like Gmail. Arrgghh!

It is just me or does it seem like the only stable browser anymore is IE and Safari. :expressionless:
