Osx problem

there is software i need to install on my computer, but my dad has the administrator account, and i can’t get his password. i need to install it without his knoweledge, because he freaks anytime i download anything. once the software is installed, i plan to make it’s folder invisible. anyway, we are using a newer iMac running leopard. does anybody know how i can gain priviledges to the applications folder without my dad’s password?

That’s a feature, not a problem. You need to respect his authority and decisions until he trusts you to give you more access, or your own computer.

You can install applications to a folder other than /Applications; try installing your pr0n virus in your home folder. :stuck_out_tongue:

first of all, it’s not a **** virus =( and whenever i run the setup app, it asks for his password so it can “make changes”

What is the application? It might be possible to compile locally with the $PREFIX in your home folder, rather than using the precompiled installer.

probably an illegally downloaded program…
