Just for the record… To do what I need to do, I do need to use either A) a decompiler, or B) some other technique that has yet to be recommended.
Using the movie explorer to copy all of the text to the clipboard doesn’t output code that’s within movieclips and/or components that aren’t on a stage… So if you want to search through code within movieclips or components that you’ve created in your library without having to manually go through each one, I think you’d still need a decompiler (or some other trick that hasn’t been mentioned)…
Actually, the movie explorer/copy text to clipboard thing doesn’t seem to work. I’m not getting any code from components and symbols that aren’t placed on my stage (which is most of them) at design time… So I get a very small amount of code while there should be tons. Sorry guys… still decompiling. =\
