Password protecting

Hey,

is there any way you can protect your .swf files against programmes such as Sothink SWF Decompiler and everything. I’m not being funny or anything but, say you had an online catalogue of images you were trying to sell or something, someone comes along with that piece of software and bang goes your chance of selling them cause everyone is gonna be getting them for free, and it gives you the AS codes for MC’s and that.

Don’t know about anyone else but if i wanted to see how something was done i’d email the person who created it and if i didn’t get a reply i’d take the hint that they don’t want me to know how its done. Just practise hard and search around and you’ll figure it out yourself + you get more satisfaction out of it that way…

I know Sothink probably has its good points and a purpose for its existance, i just don’t know what they are :stuck_out_tongue:

anyway

thanks

the best way is to load a blank movie, then load all content from there. Then change all of your loading swfs to another extension, such as .txt. Flash will still load them as swf, but the user will have a real hard time figuring out which are your files in his Temp Int folder.

This isn’t phool proof, but it does okay… If someone really wants to rip you off, there isn’t really any way to 100% be sure they can’t…

Robin Debreuil has done an AS obfuscator. I don’t know how effective it is though.
