Path problem

hi all, i have a quick question for you b/c im either gonna bang my head up against the wall or throw my computer =)

i followed this tut on kirupa “Transitions Between External SWFs” and evrything works fine. same setup same everything. but here is my problem, i have the main swf with 3 buttons (contact, resume, portfolio) that are always constant throughout the whole site (like the one in the tut) In the portfolio swf, i have another loaded swf that has buttons (ex cdrom) also.

here’s the problem…

I click on portfolio, the loaded swf comes in fine! I click on cd rom, loaded swf comes in fine (meaning the intro transition) BUT when i go back to click on “contact” either nothing happens OR the outer transition will not work, flashes and jsut loads contact.swf. I know its a path issue, but i read all the psots on here and i know somehow its a path problem but i have tried changing the _root to _parent in a number of combinations and it still doesnt work. If i was in contact.swf and were to go to resume, the transitons (both intro and outer) work just fine.

anyone have any ideas on why this isnt working?

hey guys thanks for responding back to me. i cant post the file son here b/c they are to big, even compressed. can i send them to you again? :puzzled:

ive been trying to figure things out and i think its b/c in one of my swf’s, i have buttons that once clicked, preform a gotoAction and that screws up my midframe. i tried changing the midframe but once i do that and click the other constant button on the main timeline, the frames jsut advance. i also tried changing the levels but once i do that, the buttons dont work. im almost there but im stuck =(
