I read the photo gallery tutorial and I made my own little slide show, but I want to expand it. I opened the photo slideshow template that comes with Flash MX to see how that one worked. I saw how it had the ability to add captions and titles to each photo, but the way they do it is way to simple. Each photo is on a different frame it simply scrolls through the frames. I really like how the photo gallery Kirupa showed me how to build fades in and out really nicely, and how you can add and take away photos by simply removing or adding them to the chosen directory and editing a little code.
However, I also really want to be able to add the title, an ID number, the date taken, and possibly a caption to each one of my photos. I was wondering what would be the easiest way to do this. A way that wouldn’t take up much space and that wouldn’t clutter the .fla would be nice, but I’ll try anything. The very best would be if it could load the captions from a foreign source like a text file so I don’t have to make a bunch of frames or something… If I was better with flash I could experiment, but i am just getting started.
To sum this all up I would like somebody to help show me how to add titles, captions, dates, etc. to the Flash MX photo gallery made from the tutorial here at Kirupa. Preferably I’d like to be able to add these without having to do a whole lot of repetative work and it’d be really cool if they faded in and out in time to the photos.
Muchos Gracias,
