Photo Presentation Design Advice

So I finally broke down and bought Studio MX with my 14 year-old allowance (education version). I have been most of the way through “Foudation Flash MX” and i think I have a pretty good grip on the basics. I want to create a photo presentation for the last week of School as sort of an end of the year, end of Jr. High thing. I think I have the basic form layed out (I already made some storyboards and diagrahms).

What I need help with is how to design the photo “transitions” of sort. Like how to make the photos appear on the stage and transition from one photo to the other. I want to aviod the overused :powerpoint" look, people have seen it before and it gets boring. The photos all being raster have me stumped on what kind of cool effects I can use to display them. Does anyone have any ideas or tips for a project like this.?

i made one of these last week, i used sorta like how movie credits will show up. if you want to know more. just ask.

Learning Flash is only part of the battle. Coming up with original ideas is the other part.
Congratulations on your purchase, now all you have to do is experiment with it. I get ideas from films, video games and even static print pages. Just grab an idea and snowball it.
I’m sure you’ll have fun with it.

Alex, I’d like to hear more about you design. At this point I’m just trying to experiment and find a method that works and looks good.

the one at the bottom is the one that i used, I used the same concept that i have for the scroller. and all i did was edit it just to fit everything correctly.
