Im tyring to draw characters(people) for my games but i keep getting stuck,i am uising photoshop cs does anybody know a tutorial on how to draw characters, or a good program to use.
It all depends on exactly what you’re drawing… Are we talking retro sprites here, or something a lore complicated?
have you tried drawing them on paper first? An easy way to do it, especially if you don’t have a tablet, is to first sketch it out on paper since that’s more natural to most people, then scan it and start to trace over… Also, i think that illustrator might actually be better than PS to use, because it’s vector so it would be easier to manipulate, resize, recolour etc…and if you’re using them for games, that would make a difference too.
When I’m drawing a character I always sketch it first, then take it into PS and do a line drawing in it too w/ a hard airbrush, to get a fine line. And if I’m converting it to vector then I’ll Streamline my uber clean PS lines and bam… instant beautimuss vector character.
Thanks for the replies, but i have decided since im kinda a noob to photoshop and flash i would just use some sprites i made online, but since were on the subject i still need to make levels, so basically same question as before but instead of character tutorials,tutorials on making levels, scenery blah blah blah.
