I recently upgraded to Photoshop CS but it seems that some of my old files can’t be opened due to the file containing “an invalid text layer” does anyone know if there is a plug-in or trick to get around this. Thanks in advance for any help.
Were they version 7 files or earlier? It should work, even if the font isn’t loaded (you’d get a font error rather than “an invalid text layer”).
Umm… maybe check the adobe forums… I think it’s some kind of issue where you have to upgrade 7.0 to 7.0.1 or something like that. I don’t really know, because Photoshop unlike Illustrator is backwards compatable and this is the first I’ve ever heard of any problems.
Also, you upgraded over your previous version right? It’s not a seperate clean install? If that’s the case the upgrade to 7.0.1 makes sense. When you upgrade over previous versions it grabs characteristics from the previous ones. And it seems that, the .0.1 patch has something CS needs.
Alright cool thanks for the help you guys it is much appreciated.
