Photoshop JPEGs, Flash MX, and the end of time

Ok, so maybe this doesn’t have anything to do with the end of time… or maybe it does? I would be a fool to say I’ve got it all figured out…

Anyhow, a designer had done up some images for me, a bunch of JPEGs to be loaded into Flash dynamically…

They were done in Photoshop, and they did not work.

I thought, “How odd… they are but JPEGs are they not?”, and I asked… they were saved with a batch “Save As JPEG” in Photoshop. I decided to try to resave it through Photoshop’s “Save for Web”, and the light shone down upon me, and all was well.

So my questions is this: has anyone every run into a problem like this before? what is the difference between a JPEG and a Photoshop JPEG? Why oh why must they be different?

Thank you in advance! :hat:
