Well I would like to add movie clip images to each side.
Can this be done??? I would also like the camera or view in the centre of the cube - so when to move the mouse up it takes you to the upper side etc etc.
There is a real good reason for this for a client - but im not sure how to go about it - I know its all actionscript so im not sure how to embed a square image to each side???
you can, but not with that technique. You need to use a non perspective rotation which looks a little funky at times but can be pulled off well enough and supports images. There is a component out there that does this - I forget what its called but Im pretty sure its been brought up on the forums before.
That will get you a spinning object in front of the camera… I dont know about being in the cube. That would be stretching it (and would eatup the cpu I would imagine assuming a decent sized view)
the problem is you cant get (correct) perspective distortion of images in Flash. You can use masks to layer consecutively sized images to give the appearance of this but that is even slower to process. Flash is not the tool for what you’re trying to do. QT is a reasonable alternative as is many of the other 3D pluggins out there such as Macromedia Director-Shockwave.
Thats the one I was thinking of - the flashloaded example.
Like I said, you dont have perspecitve with this so there would be no way to see any more than one side of the box if you’re looking straight on to a side. Is that something acceptable? If so you can just take the flashloaded component and make all your exterior sides transparent. Effect done.
