Hello everyone, just signed up in the hope of solving two frustrating problems i’ve been having in (mostly) all types of games I have attempted to make: Scrolling and Depths.
- Can anyone describe or show me a method of scrolling similar to that of a Pokemon game, where the map can scroll horizontal or vertical and when it reaches the ends of the map it will stop scrolling and the player can still move around freely?
If yoyu have ever played a pokemon game, you will know exactly what I mean…otherwise you may not get me.
Basically, its a scrolling method of scrolling both left/right and up/down but the map will stop scrolling (the map scrolling gives the impression the hero is moving) when it reaches the end and the hero can move about.
- Depths, i need the player to move behind the tree when he walks into it, this is easy when both tree and player are located on the _root but not so easy when the tree is located inside the MAP mc (again, the .fla is a better explanation).
If anyone can solve any of these, they will get a very large cookie guaranteed
